David E. Sims
David has extensive experience in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. David's practice focuses on the areas of commercial litigation, real estate and construction litigation, as well as closely held business matters. He has been involved in representing clients in shareholder disputes, title insurance defense, automotive supply and commission disputes, construction lien and bond claim litigation, commercial lease disputes as well as debtor-creditor matters. He also regularly advises clients on issues relating to drafting and negotiating sales of goods, commercial warehousing and logistics agreements, leases construction and real estate related contracts. David is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan. He is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A. with honors, 1985) and Wayne State University (J.D., 1988) where he was an Assistant Editor for the Wayne Law Review. He is the author of "United States v. Carpenter: An Inadequate Solution to the Problem of Insider Trading," Wayne Law Review, Vol. 34, No. 3.
